The material used in my work is mainly pumice stone powder, with brush ink color used right after. Pumice stone powder is a kind of glue color, made by oyster shells after weathering, it is usually used as underpainting or piled material, similar to gesso in Western paintings. For example, some people will first do an underpainting with a layer of uneven pumice stone powder as the base skin texture; some people will prepare a draft on the painting and then partially apply it to pumice stone powder. It is like a pearl necklace, earrings, etc. worn on the character, giving it a partial stacking effect. After it is dried, paint color or paste a gold leaf to make it appear prominent or gorgeous.

And my works are more multifaceted, a lot of use of this material, and the exploration of its specificity. The common watermark artifacts in the work are mixing glue by pumice stone powder and then coated on raw paper. It does not spread itself, but the glue inside will be silting-up on the surrounding paper surface, producing irregular watermark artifact. Additionally, there are many embossed effects on the paintings, which are pumice stone powder stacked on the backing paper, solidified, and dried through the process of Zhuangbiao. I hope to create more colorful and contemporary art creations from pumice stone powder, paper, ink, and color, which are considered to be the "traditional oriental media", breaking the viewer's stereotypes of ink and glue painting.
