圖像繪畫源自於照片。這些畫作反映了記憶、現實與照片－過往經驗與自我之間的情感距離。畫作本身必須帶有文學性質，尤其是一種東方獨有的調性，這是我認為作爲一個亞洲人所可以賦予畫本身的觀賞性與連結特質。情感的穿透在文化差異下不應該單純建立在視覺的表現上，而是透過自我探討並隨著時間反應在畫布上，自然而然呈現畫家本身，其特質與情感才是引人感動的因素。我自私的認爲，這些所有該如同木心先生一樣。這是一種幽幽而靜謐的憂鬱，如同生活中的片段，電影裡的某幀停格。靜物畫如此，而有時間之美。

Picture paintings originate from photography. They explore the emotional distance that exists between memory, reality, photographic images, and the self. For me, a painting should possess a literary quality—particularly one imbued with an Eastern sensibility—which I believe enriches both the viewing experience and the relationship between the artwork and its audience from the perspective of an Asian artist.Emotional resonance should not depend solely on visual expression, especially across different cultural contexts. Instead, it emerges through a process of self-exploration and gradually unfolds on the canvas over time. Ultimately, it is the artist's own temperament and emotional depth that moves the viewer. I find this spirit akin to that embodied in the works of Mu Xin: a quiet, restrained melancholy, like fragments of everyday life or a still frame from a film. Within such stillness lies the enduring beauty of time.
